Scouting Report: Liverpool take Emeka Obi - "The best 15-year-old in England"
According to reports in the Independent, Liverpool are about to sign one of the best young prospects in the country. The journal claims that 15-year-old defender Emeka Obi, who is currently in the youth academy at Bury, is about to get a dream move to Anfield.
The youngster has changed his biography on his social media accounts to “Footballer at Liverpool FC”, sparking rumours that a deal between the two clubs has already been done. The local newspaper, The Bury Times has even reported that the fee is believed to be a six-figure sum with substantial add-ons and sell-on fees. However the transfer is believed to be ongoing due to the fact that Obi has visa issues due to his Nigerian heritage.
Bury manager David Flitcroft has described the youngster as “The best talent right now at 15 years of age in the entire country”, adding that; “He’s just turned 15, he’s a man mountain, but we teach them how to play football and he’s going to be an unbelievable asset to the football club”.
