Schweinsteiger: 'Germany's penalty plan against Italy'
The Manchester United midfielder was kind enough to explain his side's strategy, namely that of taking the penalties under Italy's end, rather than their own fans.
“The Italians were happy with my choice, but I had been pondering it for a while. I though of a number of shootouts from the past: in 2012 we lost the Champions League final in front of our own fans, and Switzerland took their penalties against Poland in front of their own end. That's why I chose the Italian end.
Man, these Germans are analytical. There's a reason they hadn't missed a penalty at a major tournament since 1982.
