If there are no further developments, Marco Storari will stay at Juventus and Federico Marchetti will stay at Genoa. After Buffon's return Storari wanted to leave, but he did not accept Genoa's offer. Therefore, president Preziosi is keeping Marchetti who would have gone to Juventus, becoming Buffon's substitute and eventually his heir.

Additionally, Juventus were not happy to give Storari on loan as they need cash and would only have accepted his transfer for 4 million, which is the price they paid to Milan. Until the end of the championship they will continue as they are with Storari having to grit his teeth and remain Buffon's second. The situation will be reassessed in June. Juventus could possibly put Alex Manninger, the third keeper, on the market.
