    FOCUS: two options for Milan's defense

    AC Milan’s priority during the next transfer window will be the signing of a new center back: the rossoneri –considering the probable departures of Alex and Cristian Zapata- are seeking a reliable defender who can play next to Alessio Romagnoli. One of the Lombard club’s main targets for such position is Atletico Madrid 25-year-old Stefan Savic, who was already a target for Milan when he was playing for Fiorentina.
     
    The Montenegro international joined the Colchoneros last summer from the Tuscan club for €25 million, but he never had many chances to play in Diego Simeone’s squad. The rossoneri are then observing the situation and are confident in their good relations with the Spanish club.
     
    An alternative to Savic is Villarreal’s 22-year-old Eric Bailly. The former Espanyol man had a great season with both El Submarino Amarillo and the Ivorian national team, and costs at least €12 million.
