Sarri: 'Rugani the best of Italian youth'
Having barely played this season at Juventus (just two minutes in the Champions League!), one of last season's stars has since attracted a number of clubs, including Premier League mainstays Arsenal and Manchester United.
The 21-year-old may, however, stay closer to home, with Napoli being coached by Maurizio Sarri, the man who introduced him to professional football and groomed him at Empoli.
With the ball firmly in the interested clubs' court, Sarri has put his cards on the table, telling the Corriere dello Sport just how much he admired the Under-21 international.
"Among Italy's youth, Rugani is the best of the bunch.
"He is extraordinary when it comes to applying himself. I made him debut when he was 18 years old.
"He'll play a key role in the future of Italian football".
Will Rugani be tempted? Were he to move, the Partenopei would likely have to part with €20 million for his services. Is this an Andrea Pirlo-like move? Let us know in the comments section below!
