Sampdoria, Osti: "We want to continue with Montella. Cassano? He still has one year left on his contract"
Sampdoria Sporting Director Carlo Osti spoke to Premium Sport before today's match against Juventus. He was asked about the future of coach Vincenzo Montella, who's been heavily linked to both the Italian national team and Milan. He stated that; "When we took him, we thought it was for the long haul as demonstrated by the duration of the contract we offered. I think it's possible that things can be taken out of context, especially after a defeat in a derby game".
On the subject of striker Antonio Cassano who was controversially sacked via a telegram this week he explained that; "He still has a year left on his contract and he has done what we have asked of him. There would be no problems if he wanted to remain".
