This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport revealed some spicy details concerning Antonio Cassano’s tumultuous season at Sampdoria.

According to the Italian paper,  the 33-year-old had a changing room raw at Sampdoria’s training centre “Aldini” ahead of yesterday’s disastrous match against Milan. The former Parma star reportedly entered the blucerchiati locker room screaming and shouting before leaving the training centre without giving any explanation about his behavior or signing autographs for fans waiting for him at the training ground’s gates.

The Rosea suggests that this is the reason why Vincenzo Montella left Cassano warming Sampdoria’s bench during the whole San Siro clash.

The rumor, by the way, was denied by Sampdoria through an official statement published on their website.

“U.C. Sampdoria wants to clarify that reports published by the Gazzetta dello Sport and concerning Antonio Cassano’s behavior ahead of yesterday’s match against Milan are totally false. The player has regularly underwent the last training before the game and he travelled back to the hotel on the club bus along with his teammates.”
