Salary demands, wife delaying Fernando's move to Spartak!

Salary demands, wife delaying Fernando's move to Spartak!

It appears that a couple of factors are keeping Sampdoria midfielder Fernando in Genoa – his salary requests...and his wife!

With the Doriani agreeing to sell the talented Brazilian to Spartak Moscow for €12.5 million (plus €1.5m more in bonuses), the move was delayed by the player's hesitation, which turns out to have been linked to his excessive salary demands.

There's more: his wife Rafaela didn't sound too keen on the move either, prompting rumours that AC Milan would try to sneak in and steal him away. Hmmm, Moscow over Genoa? Why she'd be insane NOT to want a move!

It appears that all talks have broken down, and it's now up to lawyer Giuseppe Bozzo (who is also Antonio Cassano's agent) to bring things to a peaceful compromise. Fernando can also expect to be fined by the Doria for not turning up to pre-season camp.

The latest rumours have Dona Rafaela warming to the Moscow idea... which would prompt Sampdoria to try to snag Leandro Paredes from Roma.
