Rumours: De Boer won’t keep the Inter job if he fails to snatch UCL qualification
De Boer replaced sacked Roberto Mancini last summer and despite sitting 11th in the Serie A table at the moment, Inter are only two points short of a Champions League spot and with Roma and Napoli that will meet in the week-end, De Boer has a very good chance to close the gap with their direct rivals.
Inter can qualify to Europe’s elite competition finishing in any of the top three spots in Serie A or winning the Europa League.
Frank De Boer’s side, however, are with no points after two games in the European competition after defeats against Hapoel Be’er Sheva and Sparta Prague.
If De Boer fails to snatch a Champions League spot, Inter would try to hire Diego Simeone who has recently admitted that he could be leaving Atletico Madrid at the end of the campaign.
The appointment of Simeone as Inter’s boss is a dream of former president Massimo Moratti who, however, could return in charge as Inter’s new n.1 between October and February.
