ROMANO From Inter’s interest to becoming untouchable: the Edin Dzeko story
Barely a few months ago, he was one of Serie A’s most mocked players.
Edin Dzeko was, in fact, doing so badly in Rome that Coach Spalletti was chipping away at him in press conference while establishing an attacking trio without him, attracting long-time admirers Inter Milan. Director of Sport Piero Ausilio called his Roman colleague, Walter Sabatini, letting him know that he’d try to buy him in July, and that he was the first alternative to Mauro Icardi.
Dzeko said no to both, and has since become indispensable, untouchable in Rome, leading the team’s scoring charts with 4 Serie A goals and being considered a €30-35m talent.
