ROMANO EXCLUSIVE Benched Zappacosta could leave Torino
The former Atalanta star is considered to be one of the most promising prospects at right-back in the country, but had the misfortune of landing behind Bruno Peres in Torino’s pecking order last season.
With the Brazilian’s departure for Rome, it felt like the worm had finally turned for the Sora native, especially with Sinisa Mihajlovic singing his praises during training camp.
And yet, we find Lorenzo De Silvestri starting instead of him, and Zappacosta’s flexibility (he can play on the left, too) is obviously not helping him here.
Could it contribute to another Calcio team’s cause?
Don’t bet against it: beyond Sassuolo - whom Torino wouldn’t even engage this summer - a number of Serie A sides are very interested in the 24-year-old, who also has 17 appearances with Italy’s Under-21s under his belt.
