Roma's GM: 'We are not forced to sell Pjanic and Nainggolan'

Before the game against Chievo, AS Roma General Manager Mauro Baldissoni said: “Will we have to sell some of our players during the next transfer window? During the transfer market, we try to reinforce the team, even if you have to pay attention to the balance because of our commitments with UEFA. In the last three years, we have changed many players, but always trying to improve. We don’t have to sell Pjanic or Nainggolan, as I read on the papers”.

“I want to remind that we have already signed Jefferson, who is considered one of the best midfielders in the world”, he added. “Also Barcelona were after him. We don’t want to get weaker, we always want to improve our group”.

Regarding the possibility for the team’s captain Francesco Totti to extend his contract, Baldissoni said: “It’s something between Francesco and our president; at the end of the season, they will meet and find a solution. We are optimistic about the possibility for Totti to keep on playing for Roma”.
