Roma, Massara; "The renewal of Spalletti does not depend on results"
After Sunday’s defeat in Bergamo against Atalanta, Roma Sporting Director Ricky Massara told reporters that the renewal of current coach Luciano Spalletti will not be affected by yesterday’s result. He explained that; “His situation is not affected by the results, it’s the mood of the team that’s important. We need to concentrate on what we are doing on the field”.
The giallorossi capitulated in the second-half after dominating the opening 45 minutes in Bergamo. A Diego Perotti penalty five minutes before half-time looked to have put them in a strong position but Spalletti tinkered with the formation at half-time and the hosts completely overrun his side after the interval. The Tuscan tactician admitted he’d made a tactical error by reverting to a back three and that his team lacks quality when it tries to press the opposition.
The result leaves the capital club seven points adrift of leaders Juventus who they meet in Turin next month.
