Roma, Juan Jesus faces the wrath of the tifosi

His arrival at Roma was not greeted by a huge fanfare and after a month of rather indifferent performances on the field, the supporters’ patience is wearing thin with Juan Jesus. The 25-year-old Brazilian landed in the capital in the summer on an honorary loan-deal of €2 million; the final price, which is based on the number of appearances, is €8 million but after five official starts, fans of the giallorossi have been heavily critical on the club’s official Facebook page.

    THE CRITICISM:
Two dreadful performances against Porto in the Champions League play-off followed by vital mistakes against Sampdoria and last night at Viktoria Plzen looks to have destroyed any faith still left by the supporters who have plundered the message boards across social media wanting the club to explain why someone of the calibre of Dodo was let go to Inter for €9 million whilst Juan Jesus could end up costing the capital club €10 million.

    A LOOK TOWARDS SASSUOLO:
To make matters worse for giallorossi fans, one only has to look at the performances of Sassuolo, who have acquired some of the jewels from the Roma youth academy including Politano, Ricci, Mazzitelli and Pellegrini, all influential in their clubs 3-0 demolition of Athletic Bilbao on Thursday. Now coach Spalletti has a huge task on his hands to raise the confidence of his player and get the supporters back on his side.
