Roma: fine for De Rossi who considers his Serie A future. Possible switch to the MLS
Tuesday’s Champions League exit at the play-off stage was a bitter pill for Roma to swallow; it was a night to forget for club legend Daniele De Rossi who received the 14th red card of his career shortly before half-time. For a club under the restraints of financial fair-play, their elimination is a savage blow to their chances of trying to balance the books at the end of the year.
DE ROSSI FINED:
Corriere della Sera reports that the club has decided to fine the 33-year-old for his on-field conduct which left Maxi Pereira in a wheelchair after the match.
A MOVE TO THE MLS:
With his future at the end of the current season already the subject of much speculation, the Italian international could bid farewell to his hometown club at the end of the current campaign and a move stateside to the MLS is the favourable option. A symbol of the club just like Francesco Totti, De Rossi is believed to be already contemplating life after AS Roma.
