Roma close to top-player. Anzhi-Mazzarri. Inter keep Ranieri
Giallorossi director Walter Sabatini revealed that Roma are close to sign a top player as they look to reinforce their ambitions for the next season.
“We know what to add in order to strengthen our squad,” said Sabatini.
“We will do things properly as we look for players with the right personality. We are really close to a world class player, but I cannot reveal anything else.
“Bojan will stay with us next season too as we have an agreement with Barcelona. Regarding Kjaer, we haven’t decided yet.”
Anzhi approach Mazzarri
Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala has approached Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri.
Last week, following a meeting between agents Beppe Bozzo and Claudio Vigorelli, the Azzurri manager received a ludicrous offer from Anzhi.
Calciomercato.com believes that the offer was superior to €4M per three seasons. Mazzarri would become the first team coach while current manager Guus Hiddink would take on a Board role.
After Samuel Eto’o, the Russians are once again looking to shop in Serie A as their imperious project continues.
Inter keep Ranieri
According to reports, Claudio Ranieri is incredibly close to the axe but Inter President Massimo Moratti said the Nerazzurri will stick to the Tinkerman until the end of the season.
“I believe Ranieri will stay with us until the end of this campaign,” Moratti told the Press as he walked out of the Saras buildings.
Primavera coach Stramaccioni was linked to the job but ultimately Ranieri is expected to stay in charge.
