Chelsea’s interest in Roma defender Kostas Manolas is not a secret. The Premier League side have been tracking the 25-year-old Greek defender since the summer but now latest reports coming out of Italy suggest that Blues boss Antonio Conte, wants to pull out all the stops and bring him to Stamford Bridge in January.
 

Manolas is currently in contract negotiations with the giallorossi but has yet to commit himself to the club despite recent reports suggesting an agreement was close. The plan of Chelsea however, is to present an offer to the Italian club that they know they will be unable to turn down.  

Manolas has been one of the clubs most consistent performers over the past two seasons and was ever-present this season until he broke his nose at Empoli at the end of October. He’s always maintained it’s his desire to stay in the Eternal City, but the chance to test himself in the most popular league in the world may be an opportunity too good to turn down for a second-time.
