REVEALED: Which Premier League clubs are chasing Keisuke Honda?
After benching Honda in AC Milan’s 1-0 win to Sampdoria on Sunday, the Italian tactician will prefer Jack Bonaventura over the Japanese star against Carpi too. With his contract expiring in June 2017, which future can Honda have at the San Siro?
His brother and agent Hiro had been negotiating a contract extension with AC Milan during the last month, but with Brocchi’s appointment, talks have been put on hold as the new manager doesn’t consider him starting material anymore.
The 29-year-old attacking midfielder refused Everton’s offer last January, but the player it’s ready to listen all offers in the summer.
Tottenham are interested in signing the Japan International. Spurs need to add players to their squad for next year’s Champions League and a Japanese player would also allow them to develop their brand in the Asian market.
West Ham are also keeping tabs on Honda. The Hammers will move to London Stardford’s Olympic Stadium at the beginning of next season and signing a very popular Asian footballer could take their business to the next level.
Both clubs could offer Honda a higher salary than AC Milan and Brocchi’s decision to bench the Japanese star could convince him to leave the San Siro outfit in the summer.
