Reported Torino target Iago Falque happy in the capital

Roma wide-man Iago Falque is happy in the Italian capital, despite transfer rumours linking him with a move to Sinisa Mihajlovic’s Torino. Speaking to vocegiallorossa.it, the Spaniard was eager to clarify the situation: “I still have 4 years to run on my contract and I am happy here. It’s true that it’s not been an easy period for me: at the start of the season I played a lot before featuring less and less, but I am working to turn the situation around and start featuring again regularly.”

Falque looked back over the season which saw the Giallorossi finish third even though the team started the season as the number one candidates to wrestle the Serie A title away from Juventus: “We had higher expectations at the start of the year. Sabatini is a great person. Spalletti is a very demanding coach. I like the position he has given me, playing either as a trequartista or wide midfielder. When he arrived I still had that knee problem and so I wasn’t able to use some of my trademark skills such as my pace, so it was easier for me to play more centrally.”
