REPORT: why Inter are trying to get rid of Montoya
M.G.
As reported earlier today, Inter Milan are seeking a new right back, but also have a lot of players to sell for what concerns their team’s flank. One of them is the 24-year-old Martin Montoya Torralbo. Considered one of the nerazzurri’s great strikes during the last transfer window, the Spaniard only had a chance to play in Roberto Mancini’s team during the friendly game against Lecco, and with awful results. As outlined by calciomercato.com, the player was admired by the Lombard club’s Sporting Director Piero Ausilio, but evidently not from the first team’s head coach. Moreover, while leaving Barcelona, Montoya told the local medias that he was hoping to be back soon, and this didn’t seem the right attitude to start his new experience. The young full back joined from the blaugrana on a two-year-loan, and if he will play more than 33% of his current team’s games, Inter will have to sign him to permanent basis, by paying 7,3 million euros to the Catalan club. This could be another reason not to have him playing.
