REPORT: Juve were close to Rakitic & for Pogba there was the option of Barcelona

Juventus and Barcelona were linked by a potential double-deal in the last transfer window involving Paul Pogba and Ivan Rakitic.

    POGBA-BARCA:
Barcelona director Albert Soler has revealed that; “We had reached an agreement with Juventus to have a priority if they decided to sell Pogba. We had a good relationship with them with Ariedo Braida helping a lot. Then we know how it ended with him going to Manchester United for €105 million (for the same amount we bought in six players).

    RAKITIC-JUVE:
Then there is Ivan Rakitic; as reported in today’s Corriere dello Sport, Juve executives had submitted a bid to try to lure the Croatian midfielder to Turin. Rakitic himself was tempted and the signing of Andre Gomes only enhanced his desire to switch to Serie A. But Barcelona convinced him to stay and reassured him that his place in the team was not in jeopardy, promising him a new contract.
