‘Refusing Juve’s €30m offer for Hamsik was difficult’, says Napoli president

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis told Il Corriere dello Sport, he refused Juventus’ € 30 million bid to sign Partenopei star Marek Hamsik last summer.”

‘They offered € 30 million to sign him, but I refused to realize a dream which is still possible.’
Juventus’ Sporting Director Giuseppe Marotta had already made no secret of the Old Lady’s summer offer for the Slovakia International, but Aurelio De Laurentiis added some more details to Marotta’s revelations.

“They made their offer last August. The balance sheet is important for every club. Napoli have an € 120 million annual turnover, so it is difficult to contrast clubs like Juventus which have a € 280 million revenue a year.”

“Under this circumstances it would be difficult to convince players to stay, but we did it with Hamsik and Higuain who has a buy-out clause on his contract.”
