Real Madrid: Varane robbed whilst on Champions League duty

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane had a nasty surprise when he arrived home from Wednesday’s 2-2 Champions League draw against Borussia Dortmund. The 23-year-old’s property was broken into with thieves making off with £60,000 in money, clothes, jewellery and watches.

According to El Mundo, the player admitted to Spanish police that he had forgotten to turn on the security alarm when he headed out of his luxury home in La Moraleja; an affluent area just north of the Spanish capital. It’s believed the perpetrators entered the grounds through an annexed chalet that is undergoing refurbishment. Witnesses have also stated that they noticed an Audi A-4 in the area at the time of the robbery and that three or four people were spotted taking a case out of the house and putting it into the car.

Varane has been heavily linked with a move away from Los Blancos in January and this will have done nothing to help his current situation.
