Real Madrid's transfer ban is halved and this spells bad news for both Chelsea & Manchester United

Real Madrid have had their transfer ban halved on appeal and this could be bad news for Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United.

The CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) announced earlier that the Spanish giants will now only be banned from making any new signings in January but will be clear to add to their squad next summer. This news means that it’s unlikely that Colombian play-maker James Rodriguez will now almost certainly stay at the Santiago Bernabeu until the end of the current campaign.

Both Chelsea and Manchester United were linked with January moves for the 25-year-old but The Express now claims that the player, despite expressing a desire to move away from the club and stating that he had received several offers for a new year switch, will not be allowed to leave the Spanish capital as Real will not be able to bring in a replacement.
