Real Madrid only want to sell Liverpool, Milan target Kovacic on loan

The imminent arrival of Andre Gomes at Real Madrid means the Merengues are ready to offload Croatian star Mateo Kovacic. Florentino Perez, however, only wants to sell Kovacic on a loan deal as the former Inter man joined the Santiago Bernabeu on a € 32 million deal last summer.

Real Madrid can’t guarantee Kovacic more game time and aim to sell him on loan not to lose the control on the player. As we previously reported, both Liverpool and AC Milan are interested in signing the player. Galliani wants the 22-year-old midfielder on a loan deal with option to buy. The 11-time Champions League winner want to add a buy-back clause on the contract.

Both clubs are also going head-to-head for Piotr Zielinski. The Poland International has agreement with the Reds and with the rossoneri, though the Premier League side still have to reach agreement with Udinese, whilst AC Milan have agreed the player’s transfer fee, but have no money available to complete the transfer, given that Silvio Berlusconi is finalizing the sale of a majority share in the club.
