Ranieri on his time at Inter 'Someone close to Moratti sacked me'
“My sacking was decided by someone close to president Moratti, not from the players, Ranieri told Calcio 2000.”
“That someone thought that we could win the Scudetto after our initial success. I would have continued, I had a long-term vision and the drive to do well with the Nerazzurri”.
Personnel decisions were apparently a big sticking point:
“Something soured when Coutinho, and especially Thiago Motta, were sold.
“Motta really wanted to leave for Paris in January. I tried to convince him to stay until June, but the kid was sure that an immediate change would have set his career in a different direction”.
