Promising Brazilian defender offered new deal to ward off Milan, Man Utd interests
The U-23 Brazil International is one of the most promising defenders is South America and has already attracted the interest of many European clubs. AC Milan’s director of sport Massimiliano Mirabelli is a long time admirer of the Brazilian centre-back who is also wanted by Napoli in Serie A.
With his contract expiring in 2018, however, Sao Paolo have already made contact with the player’s entourage. The Brazilian club are ready to offer Caio a two-year contract extension with huge pay rise. Caio’s new deal would expire in 2020. AC Milan have informed Sao Paulo that they are not open to offer more than € 7/8 million at this stage, though they could raise their offer in the future. Manchester United have also added Rodrigo Caio to their transfer shortlist and Zenit St. Petersburg are keeping a close eye on the player who, however, would prefer moves to either Italy or England over Russia.
