President of Pescara: ‘Verratti was disappointed at joining PSG instead of Juventus’

Pescara president Daniele Sebastiani has released an interview with Tuttosport ahead of tonight’s Serie A clash between his side and the Old Lady. Juventus are being linked with welcoming the services of former Pescara star Marco Verratti at the end of the season and the president of the newly promoted Serie A boys has confirmed that the Italy International was close to joining the bianconeri in 2012.

“In January 2012 we were about to sell Verratti to Juventus that had offered us Ciro Immobile in exchange. Immobile was playing on loan at Pescara at the time. The following summer we failed to find economic agreement and Verratti ended up at PSG.”

“I would have preferred to sell him to Juventus and Verratti was also disappointed at joining the French side instead of Juventus.

“When he arrived at his new club, however, he understood straightaway that he would have had a big chance and knew that his life would have changed in Paris.”

“Verratti is a humble person and I’d bet that he’ll join Juventus one day. He’s very happy in Paris now, but I know him well and I am sure he’d be open to move to Juventus. Bayern Munich, however, could also be an option for his future; Ancelotti is more than a manager to him.”
