President of Argentine club admits interest in Ronaldinho

The president of Argentine club Gimnasia La Plata Mariano Cowen has revealed that his club are interested in signing former AC Milan and Barcelona star Ronaldinho who is currently available in the market as a free agent.

Talking to InfoBae, Mariano Cowen has said: “We’ll try to sign Ronaldinho even if his name is not the only one on our agenda.”

Ronaldinho’s Fluminense contract expired in June 2015 and the former Brazil star has failed to find agreement with any other club since then.

The 36-year-old is a two-time Ballon d’Or winner and received the award as best European footballer of the year when he was under contract with Barcelona.

Ronaldinho has won two Spanish leagues with Barcelona and one Serie A title with AC Milan throughout his career. He is also a 2002 World Cup winner with Brazil and a 2006 Champions League winner with Barcelona.

Are Gimnasia La Plata going to be the last squad of his glorious career? The Argentine’s club president definitely hopes so.
