Premier League giants join Juventus in race for Real Madrid star

Real Madrid star Pepe’s contract expires in June 2017. The Portuguese centre-back has failed to find agreement with the Merengues so far as he has requested a new two-year deal though the 11-time Champions League winners only want to offer the experienced defender a new one year deal.

Pepe is considering leaving the club either in January or at the end of the season, when he could join any other club for free.

Juventus are believed to be interested in signing the player as the Old Lady is always keeping a  very close eye on players running out of their contracts. Over the last five seasons, the Serie A giants have signed the likes of Pogba, Pirlo, Coman, Evra, Lllorente, Khedira and Dani Alves for nothing and either Pepe or PSG ace Thiago Silva could be the next free agent joining the J Stadium.

The Serie A defending champions, however, will have plenty of competition to sign Pepe as according to reports from Spain, Manchester United are also monitoring the player.

The Red Devils are in desperate need of a new centre-back at least as Eric Bailly seems to be the only centre defender who can live up to the potential required by a centre defender of a big club like Manchester United. If only Mino Raiola had a decent centre-back in his clients’ list....
