Napoli are closing in on Genoa striker Leonardo Pavoletti. With negotiations for Sampdoria frontman Luis Muriel getting more and more complicated, Sky Sport claim that the partenopei have turned their full attention to the 28-year-old, who also plies his trade in the port city.
 

Having been linked with the player in the summer, reports suggest that Napoli have tabled a bid worth €18 million plus bonus to try to close out the deal. Now they just have to convince Genoa to sell their star striker.
 

Another factor in any potential move is Pavoletti’s physical condition; having recently picked up an injury that will keep him sidelined until the new year, any potential deal will be subject to an extensive medical. In the next few weeks, more tests will be carried out on the player to ensure his recovery is going to plan. Napoli will be anxious to insert him into their Champions League squad for the knockout stages.
