Paper Talk - West Ham likely to sign Zaza, Thiago Silva wants Juventus move
Today’s edition of Tuttosport confirms that West Ham are likely to keep Simone Zaza, and pay the €20m buyout clause in his contract.
Having arrived for €5m, the Italian has been a flop, but the Hammers are said to believe that they may as well go the whole hog, and hope that the 25-year-old returns to his previous levels.
He is two games short of automatically earning that buyout anyway.
Juventus are also involved in a potential Thiago Silva move, with the Brazilian international said to want a move to Turin and Italy. Then again, he has a clause in his deal that would keep him in Paris if PSG earn qualification to the Champions League… a very, very likely scenario.
This would force Juventus to deal with PSG… a club who they don’t get along with, considering that the Parisians are furious at the Bianconeri’s poaching of Kingsley Coman, and attempt at doing the same with Nanitamo Jonathan Ikone.
The Bianconeri face Genoa this weekend: the chance, Tuttosport remind us, to further negotiate the Tomas Rincon - Hernanes swap deal the Bianconeri are so enthusiastic about.
Moving onto the Rossoneri, Tuttosport claim that Federico Bernardeschi is being watched by AC Milan for June: among other things, the youngster is seen as an alternative to Spaniard Suso, who has perhaps less endurance than M’Baye Niang.
The Corriere dello Sport, on the other hand, publish a fascinating piece on how much Milan’s new director of Sport, Alessandro Mirabelli, has travelled: in just under 10 weeks, the new arrival has watched at least 14 games, and scouted the likes of Southampton’s Dusan Tadic, Real Madrid fringe player Isco and Lyon star Corentin Tolisso.
Returning to Napoli, the Gazzetta claim that sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli plans to acquire Leonardo Pavoletti in January, seeing as Arkadiusz Milik will be out until Spring.
