Paper Talk: Juve continue to fight for Gabigol; Handanovic on way out of Inter; Roma agree personal terms with Vermaelen
Juventus refuse to let go in the chase to land Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa or Gabigol. Tuttosport claims that the bianconeri will fight tooth and nail with Serie A rivals Inter to land the 19-year-old Santos man. Reports had suggested that Inter were in the box seat and had presented an offer to the player and his representitives for €25 million plus bonuses and that his agent and family (who between them own a large majority of the youngster) had met to discuss their options.
Juventus meanwhile are still confident they can persuade the player to head to Turin rather than Milan after he’s taken part for Brazil in the Olympic football tournament in Rio. The bianconeri have already smashed the Serie A transfer record by bringing Gonzalo Higuain to the club for €90 million but despite this, they still want to build for the future by bringing in one of world football’s most talked about youngsters .
INTER CONSIDERING HANDANOVIC SALE
Inter have also reportedly blocked off Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin for next season. La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the nerazzurri have identified the 23-year-old as a replacement for current number one Samir Handanovic. The 32-year-old Slovakian has made no secret of the fact that he wants to play Champions League football despite recently signing a new deal with the club. Chelsea has shown interest in the past but their lack of European football may persuade Handanovic to look elsewhere.
