According to reports in today’s Corriere dello Sport, Roma are closing in on Manchester United’s Memphis Depay. The 22-year-old Dutchman is one of ten players who are surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and a January move to Serie A is getting closer.
 

With Egyptian striker Mo Salah set to be absent for January as he heads to the Africa Cup of Nations, Depay is seen as the perfect replacement for the giallorossi. The journal claims that any move would be on an initial loan-deal for the rest of the season with a view to a possible permanent move next summer. The player has consistently stated that he prefers to remain in the Premier League but a chance to get his career back on track in the Eternal City may be a challenge too good to turn down.

The agent of former QPR and Milan playmaker Adel Taarabt has told Portuguese sports daily A Bola that his client could be returning to Serie A in January. Pierre Frelot explained that Pescara are interested in taking the 27-year-old on a loan-deal from Benfica.

In an interview with Rai Sport, Bologna team manager Marco Di Vaio has stated that the club has no intention of making a move for Everton target Manolo Gabbiadini. 


 

Tuttosport states that Italy striker Simone Zaza is one of five players West Ham boss Slaven Bilic will off-load in January. The 25-year-old frontman has failed to score since his summer loan move from Juventus and looks set to return to Italy.

 

Inter want to bring Italian left-back Domenico Criscito back to Serie A. The 29-year-old has 18 months left on his contract at Zenit St Petersburg, but according to Tuttosport, the nerazzurri are confident they can agree an intial loan-deal with the Russian club.


 

Former Leicester City target Jonathan Biabiany, looks set to leave Inter in January to join Torino. The 28-year-old Frenchman was linked with a move to the Foxes last summer (Tuttosport).
