Victor Ibarbo is a new player at Greek side Panathinaikos. As we’ve previously reported on calciomercato.com, the former Cagliari striker will arrive in Athens on an initial loan-deal with a €6 million fee required to take the player on a permanent basis next summer. There will also be bonus payments depending on how the club progresses in European competition next season. Despite the attentions of Valencia and bitter rivals Olympiakos, the 26-year-old preferred to be coached by someone he knew well and his new boss Andrea Stramaccioni fits the bill perfectly. Next Wednesday he will head to the Greek capital to undergo his medical before completing his move.
