Palacio allowed to leave Inter on one condition
In the last few Serie A games, the former Manchester City boss has opted for a very offensive 4-2-3-1, a system which requires at least six strikers (four seniors and two back-ups). The 50-year-old manager thinks he’ll need Palacio’s experience when big games will come thick and fast and when injuries might affect his senior strikers Mauro Icardi, Stevan Jovetic, Ivan Perisic and Adem Ljajic.
In addition, Piero Ausilio eager to sell on loan one of the most promising attacking winger at San Siro, Ray Manaj and that’s why Palacio’s January exit doesn’t seem a credible option for the next month, although the Argentinean’s contract will expire in June 2016.
The 33-year-old winger could only rack up 475 minutes this term and Boca Juniors would tempt the “Trenza” to join the Estadio La Bombonera in January offering some more playing time as well as the possibility to come back to his native country after more than 10 years spent in Seire A wearing the shirts of Genoa and Inter.
As previously reported, Inter would accept to let Palacio leave San Siro in January only in exchange of the Xeneizes’ star Jonathan Calleri, who was previously linked with a Chelsea move.
The Argentineans’ president, by the way, has recently revealed that the player won’t leave the club at least until the end of the Copa Libertadores campaign.
For all these reasons, “El Trenza” might have to wait a further six months to come back playing for the team of his heart.
