OUCH! Roma won't even have Totti for free!
After 23 years of loyal service to the club, it appears that AS Roma don't want their talismanic captain to continue as a player, even if he were to remain for free.
Rete Sport claim that Er Pupone is ready to play for free, or donate what he makes to charity - just to stay at the Olimpico, but that owner James Pallotta doesn't believe anything can be gained from such an arrangement.
The Boston-based tycoon is only opposed to Totti the player: Totti the ambassador or front-office man is much more appealing to him. Totti's offer mirrors what Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero did towards the end of his career in Turin, only he parted ways with the club (and Andrea Agnelli in particular) on bad terms.
Here's hoping Roma and Totti don't make the same mistake. Either way, it looks like Sunday's Derby will be the last in Francesco Totti's career.
