Anderlecht striker Stefano Okaka Chuka spoke to the Gazzetta dello Sport's magazine, Extra Time, claiming that former club Sampdoria "couldn't wait" to get rid of him.

Asked about why he moved to Anderlecht for a paltry 3 million, the former AS Roma product said that: "It must be that Sampdoria couldn't wait to get rid of me".

The Azzurri international had a breakout season last year, scoring 8 Serie A goals and earning a call-up to the Italy squad, where he netted as a substitute against Albania at the Luigi Ferraris.

Once he moved to Sampdoria, Okaka would take out his anger at his former club. He spoke of his declarations to the Gazzetta, saying that he "only told the truth. Mihajlovic wanted me at Genoa, so I went. But in April they made me a lowball offer"

"After a naitonal call-up and scoring for Italy, I was offered a contract at the same conditions, when other team-mates were offered raises. I felt like I deserved one, even a small one..."
