    Official: Lichsteiner set for one month stop after heart surgery

    This evening FC Juventus right back Stephan Lichsteiner has undergone a surgery  to remove a cardiac arrhythmia, the club has revealed  in an official statement.

    The Swiss international suffered breathing problems the last 23rd of September, during the half time of a Juventus Stadium clash between the four times Italy champions and the neo-promoted side Frosinone.  After being substituted, the 31 year old has immediately gone through specialized medical to clearly understand the nature of his breathing problem and today he had a surgery  by Doctor Fiorenzo Gaita in Turin.
     
    According to Juventus’ statement, former Lazio defender will now take at least 30 days to be completely recovered after today’s surgery.  
    Yesterday, Lichsteiner himself posted of Facebook a message for all Juventus fans:  “I will have to undergo some more medicals  [than what expected]. It will take time and patience, but I am looking forward to coming back in the pitch.”
     
    Since his arrival at the Juventus Stadium in 2011, following a € 10 million deal from Lazio, the Swiss right back has played 166 matches with Juventus, scoring 12 goals and  completing 21 assists.
