Official: Barzagli out for two months
“Further examinations at J-Medical today have confirmed the scale of the shoulder inury sustained by Andrea Barzagli five minutes into Sunday's victory over Chievo in Verona.
The defender's arm will be in a sling for the next four weeks with a return to action scheduled for approximately for two months' time”, Juventus’ official statement reads.
The Italian centre-back is set to remain out of action for two months with his teammate and compatriot Giorgio Chiellini who has also sustained an injury and is set to remain out of actions for several weeks.
Juventus’ boss Massimiliano Allegri is now with short of options in defence as both Medhi Benatia and Leonardo Bonucci are not in perfect physical conditions, whilst Daniele Rugani has just recovered from an injury that had kept him out of the filed for almost a month.
Barzagli, 36, has been withdraws from Italy national team squad with Giampiero Ventura who has called Fiorentina defender Davide Astori to replace his Juventus counterpart.
