Napoli want Zouma from Chelsea to replace Koulibaly

Napoli are interested in signing Chelsea surplus Kurt Zouma, according to SportMediaset.

Zouma, 22, has started only three Premier League games this season with Chelsea, as he has seen the move to three at the back leave him out, anyway.

Napoli are interested in signing the French international because star defender Kalidou Koulibaly is on his way to the African Cup of Nations. The Senegalese defender is, ironically, on Chelsea’s radar, and has been for months.

The former Genk defender wanted to leave the San Paolo this summer, only for him to get in trouble with Napoli, and end up staying anyway.

Koulibaly, 25, has played 73 Serie A games for Napoli since joining in the summer of 2014.

Zouma, for his part, has struggled to secure a stable run of games with the Pensioners, and there was even talk of a move to Schalke 04 this summer, with Tottenham’s Nabil Bentaleb profiting richly from the deal.
