Napoli, Reina is also under accusation: all the possible replacements
Fans couldn’t hide their disappointment for the performance of Lorenzo Insigne yesterday night, so much so they booed him, causing the winger’s reaction.
At the same time, experienced goalkeeper Pepe Reina also left the fans disappointed as the Spaniard is guilty of two of the three goals scored by Besiktas yesterday night.
Reina is a great champions and as every great champion he has taken his responsibilities admitting his mistakes in front of media after the game and defending his teammates Lorenzo Insigne.
The former Liverpool keeper, however, turned 34 last August and Napoli are already looking for a replacement for him, just like Juventus are doing for Gigi Buffon.
Napoli have a first-option clause to sign Atalanta wantaway keeper Marco Sportiello who had an argument with new manager Gian Piero Gasperini and has only registered one appearance in Serie A this season.
Mattia Perin is another name linked with moving to the San Paolo alongside Alex Meret who is out on loan at Spal but who belongs to Udinese. Juventus are also keeping tabs on the 19-year-old goalkeeper.
Napoli are also keeping a close eye on foreign goalkeepers with the likes of Alban Lafont, Timo Horn and Bernd Leno who are on the agenda of the San Paolo outfit. The Serie A giants could make preliminary offers in January, but a possible replacement for Reina is more likely to arrive at the end of the season.
