Napoli followed him and calciomercato.com interviewed his Italian agent Fabrizio Ferrari: 'I don't think Napoli can reach an agreement, but I wouldn't know what to say at the moment. Napoli need a defender, that's sure.'

Calciomercato.com then interviewed Christophe Mongai, Cedric Mongongu's agent, who confirmed that his player will not go to Napoli: "It's only rumours, there is nothing concrete at the moment. Are there other offers from Italy? No, and I think the player will stay at Monaco until June, at least. He will not go to Valenciennes. Then we'll see what happens".
