Napoli: Hysaj renewal and the "anti-Juve" clause
It’s just a question of days before the official announcement that Albanian full-back Elseid Hysaj has extended his stay at Napoli. An agreement was reached yesterday at Castelvolturno with President Aurelio De Laurentiis giving his thumbs-up from China. The announcement may happen on Thursday after the vesuviani’s Champions League clash with Benfica at the Stadio San Paolo tomorrow. Hysaj will sign a contract extension until 2020 with an option to increase it further. The salary is believed to be around €2 million per season.
SUPER CLAUSE:
Another interesting aspect of the new deal will be the €50-60 million buy-out clause inserted in it, which will only apply to teams outside of Italy. This is seen as a “anti Juve” move seeing as though the 22-year-old’s name has been repeatedly linked with the bianconeri. The events of the summer concerning Higuain’s move to Turin has left a sour taste in the mouth of De Laurentiis; it seems he will certainly not make the same mistake twice.
