Napoli fans claim victory in war over ticket prices

Napoli fans had not taken Aurelio De Laurentiis’ decision to raise the cost of tickets for Napoli’s home games very well.
Over the last few weeks they had been organising protest marches around the city and even in front of Napoli’s city hall. As a response, De Laurentiis had asked TVs not to show his fans’ banners during Napoli’s home games and the two parties beginning a sort of war over ticket prices.

Most of Napoli fans did not go to the San Paolo to watch the 2-0 over Chievo, leaving the San Paolo almost empty.

Circumstances given, the partenopei president has been persuaded to change his mind and has eventually decided to reduce prices for tickets. In the next home game against AS Roma, tickets for the ‘Curva’ sectors (behind the goal) will be sold for € 25 euro like last season, instead of the € 40 which was the price De Laurentiis had set for this season’s top home league games.

De Laurentiis knows very well the importance of the San Paolo crowd and doesn’t want the team to play in front of an empty stadium, even if this would cost him in terms of incomes.
