Napoli, Bacca or Icardi: the two names to replace Higuain
Gonzalo Higuain is about to join Juventus after the bianconeri agreed to pay the €94 million buy-out clause. The 28-year-old will sign a four-year deal in Turin worth €7.5 million per season. Now Napoli has to find his successor and two names currently stand out above all others.
EYES TO MILAN
As we have stated on calciomercato.com, the two names at the top of the list are Carlos Bacca and Mauro Icardi. The Colombian has already been offered to the vesuviani and the player himself is anxious for Champions League football. There is competition coming from the Premier League however, with West Ham United awaiting a decision on their offer for the 29-year-old. Icardi is considered out of bounds by Inter but this hasn’t stopped his wife and agent, Wanda Nara, being vocal about how he wants to play in club football’s premier competition, the Champions League. The nerazzurri may be open to discussion if the right offer comes along, Napoli certainly have the recourses at their disposal with the sale of Higuain.
OTHER OBJECTIVES
The money received from the Higuain sale could also be used to strengthen other areas of the squad. A full-back is needed at the San Paolo and some of the names in the frame are thought to be Donati (Mainz), Conti (Atalanta), Widmer (Udinese) and also De Sciglio (Milan).
