Napoli and the renewal of Insigne: the points
Higuain has departed without saying goodbye, Hamsik has signed a new contract so what about Lorenzo Insigne? The 25-year-old and his entourage have been working to try to get an extension on his current deal which expires in 2019 and his agent has been in negotiation with club officials at the pre-season training camp in Dimaro. So far however, there is no sign of an agreement being put in place.
MAJOR CONSIDERATION
The little pocket rocket, who scored 12 goals and made 10 assists last season, wants to be one of the main protagonists at the San Paolo. At the moment he earns €1.1 million per season, less than (Callejon (2,6), Albiol (2,1), Reina (2), Gabbiadini (1,2) e Mertens (1,2), Chiriches (1,7), Maggio (1,2) and Rafael (1,2). In pre-season he has proven to be in exceptional form already and Napoli must beware of other clubs who could try to snatch their hometown boy.
INTEREST FROM ABROAD
President De Laurentiis states that he wants the Italian international to become a symbol of Napoli but with stories of possible interest from both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, Napoli still expects their boy wonder to remain at the club.
