Nainggolan: "Contact between Roma-Chelsea. Conte has always wanted me"
After so many words of love toward Roma, comes the first, albeit small, opening for Chelsea in their quest for Radja Nainggolan. Still the main object of desire for Antonio Conte, the Belgian midfielder spoke to Belgian magazine Nina. When asked about the reported interest he replied "Chelsea? There was contact between the two clubs, but until there is agreement I’ll remain in the background. It would be very difficult to leave Italy after 11 years, I am very happy at Roma. Chelsea is a big club that wants to improve its team, with Antonio Conte as the manager, a person who has always wanted to sign me. But until there is a contract, there is no transfer".
JUNE 13 MEETING
Following on from Roma Sporting Director Walter Sabatini’s visit to Stamford Bridge a couple of months ago, now comes the first admission of the player who will meet his great admirer Conte on 13 June in Lyon, when Belgium takes on Italy at Euro 2016. Is this the first meeting before a long and fruitful relationship?
