Mourinho: ‘Florentino Perez wanted me back at Real Madrid to get rid of four stars’

In 2015, Mourinho also gave advices to Real Madrid’s president about the team’s new boss. “Klopp was the only one he could hire, I told him not to go for Benitez.”
But why did Perez want Mourinho back? The Merengues president wanted the Special One to ‘polish’ Real Madrid’s dressing room, which means getting rid of the likes of Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo and Casillas.
“I told him it was too late”, Mourinho says in the book. “Real Madrid is a team divided into factions of enemies.”
