Montella: "On the disallowed goal Benatia was offside"
After Saturday’s 1-0 home win over Juventus, it’s time for Milan to concentrate on tomorrow’s trip to Genoa. Coach Vincenzo Montella has been speaking to Anchio Sport on Rai Radio 1. The first question inevitably was Juve’s disallowed goal on Saturday to which he replied; “When the ball came over, Donnarumma was going towards the post but then Benatia’s attempt to touch the ball stopped his movement”.
Asked about his seasonal objectives he stated that; “A coach needs objectives and I always think big. Tomorrow will be a tough game with an opponent who will be angry after losing the derby. We must not forget the congratulations but we must remain focused on the game tomorrow”.
ON DONNARUMMA & LOCATELLI: “I think they are destined for great things and are doing extraordinary things for their age. They have large families behind them and if they remain focused, the future is bright”.
ON ROMAGNOLI: “To succeed without being able to foul would be great but more fouls would be good I think”.
ON GALLIANI: “In my short time at the club I’ve been fortunate to be assisted by a large team of executives. Future scenarios do not depend on me, but with Galliani we are talking about someone who has always been there”.
ON THE TRANSFER MARKET: “What we actually do is more important than what is written. Lapadula? When you spend a lot of money on a player you try to hold on to him”.
ON THE SCUDETTO: “Juventus are still a very strong team. We must maintain our balance as there are many examples of teams who start well then disappear”.
